Strictly Come Dancing professional Katya Jones, 29, shared a picture of herself alongside her fellow professional dancers from a studio to mark International Dance Day. The dancer posed alongside familiar faces including her husband Neil Jones, 36, Dianne Buswell, 29, and Pasha Kovalev, 39, who announced he had left the main show in February. In view of her 135,000, Katya said she felt “emotional” as she commented on her love for dance. She wrote: “On the #internationaldanceday I genuinely never felt so in love with dance, it makes me emotional.
“I can’t wait to start this tour with this amazing cast who are first of all my friends, to share the stage with @pashapashkovofficial for the last time as a Striclty pro, to share with you all our passion for dance.
“I feel that stage is the place where I can be fully myself. Thank you DANCE for always being here for me.”
She concluded her post with a series of hashtags, adding: “#dance #tour #dance #iamadancer #strictlytour #ballroom #latin #monday.”
Katya’s upload comes just days after it was reported she will not be dancing with a celebrity partner in this year’s series, following her kiss with comedian Seann Walsh last year.
The pair were pictured kissing during a night out, despite Katya being married to Neil and the funny man being in a relationship with Rebecca Humphries at the time.
They later apologised for their actions separately on Twitter and on spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two.
A source told The Sun: “Katya thinks she is being punished for her actions and the scandal she caused.
“She feels BBC bosses are saying she can’t be trusted to act professionally with a celebrity.”
The publication added bosses gave her an ultimatum saying she could “accept a reduced role as a back-up or walk away”.
Express.co.uk approached Strictly Come Dancing and a representative for Katya for comment.
Ahead of the claims, it was announced Katya will be back as a pro on this year’s BBC series.
Last month in a lengthy statement on Instagram, Katya told her 135,000 followers she is “eternally grateful” to be making a return to the dancefloor with Neil.
She said: “I still remember that feeling when we danced on red carpet launch show for my very first time in 2016!
“I have never felt anything like this before. The buzz, the energy and happiness filled my heart!
“I never thought I would love this job so much and become the biggest #strictly fan myself!”
The Russian beauty went on to say being on the show is a “blessing” and is “never taken for granted”.
“Thank you for having me back and I’m ready to give my absolute best again this season,” she concluded.
