That is the view of Meghan’s brother Thomas Markle Jnr, who thinks his pregnant sister will splash millions on a beachside home in Los Angeles. Thomas revealed that Meghan has a desire to set down roots in her home city of LA again, even though just two years ago she moved to London. Harry is thought to be a big fan of the US, having served Army time at a helicopter training base in California. In recent days, royal sources have claimed that the couple are expected to go on a deployment for the monarchy, with Africa being their most likely destination.
But glass worker Thomas, 52, expects the couple to consider the US West Coast either now or in the near future.
He said: “I can see them having a house here somewhere. I can see anybody wanting to come and spend summers here on the beach – so it is possible.
“It is really easy to fall in love with the California lifestyle. The water is amazing here and you have this as your backyard.
“Who would not like this? Once you grow up as a child on the beach, you are always going to go back to it. Meghan was brought up in this environment, moved and is groomed into Hollywood life.
“The Hollywood lifestyle is the southern California lifestyle – the sun, beach, bright lights, the city, studios and the movie business.
“She will always be a Hollywood southern California woman at heart.”
Meghan’s big brother believes that at some point his sister may persuade Prince Harry to set down roots in her home city. Thomas reckons that Meghan will recreate parts of her own upbringing with her new child in London.
He added: “I think she will probably follow in the same footsteps. I think she’ll repeat how she was brought up. She’ll remember and will probably take the baby to a duck park, guaranteed.
“These are wonderful things that happen to a child when you are growing up and things you’ll never forget.
“I think it is going to have a great impact on the way she raises the new baby in the family and the things she brings into the baby’s life.
“All the joy that was brought into her life and all the wonderful memories. She is going to pass that on.”
Thomas spoke in a US TV special recalling Meghan’s favourite spots growing up.
He revisited the Will Rogers Beach in LA, where the family used to enjoy days out.
He admitted: “This is where we used to have family outings when Meghan was a little baby. We would spend the day at the beach, laying in the sun enjoying the California lifestyle.
“We would sit here and play for hours. We’d be playing in the sand, digging holes, running in the water, taking her in halfway up.”
TV cameras followed Thomas to four of Meghan’s favourite spots, the Will Rogers Beach, Los Encinos State Historic Duck Park, Serrania Dog Park and their Woodland Hills family home.
