The veteran rocker made the announcement earlier today. The news comes just days after the Rolling Stones postponed their North America tour when legend Mick Jagger revealed he was going into hospital this weekend to have valve on his heart replaced. Ozzy had already moved tour dates back in February when he contracted pneumonia. The fall at home has aggravated old injuries and the rock star says he will not be back on the road until next year.
A statement on Ozzy’s Twitter page said: “OZZY will postpone all his tour dates as he recovers from injury sustained while dealing with pneumonia. Ozzy fell at his Los Angeles home aggravating years-old injuries (from his 2003 ATV accident) that required surgery.
“Shows will be rescheduled beginning in Feb 2020.”
Back in December 2003, the rocker suffered terrible injuries surgery after he was involved in an all-terrain vehicle accident on his Buckinghamshire estate. He broke eight ribs on his left side, a vertebra and his left collarbone. Ozzy also required surgery to restore flow to a blood vessel that was damaged in the accident.
OZZY OSBOURNE TOUR POSTPONED: WHAT HAPPENS TO TICKETS? WHAT ABOUT FESTIVAL TICKETS?
Ozzy also made a personal statement to fans today: “I can’t believe I have to reschedule more tour dates. Words cannot express how frustrated, angry and depressed I am not to be able to tour right now. I’m grateful for the love and support I’m getting from my family, my band, friends and fans, it’s really what’s keeping me going. Just know that I am getting better every day…I will fully recover…I will finish my tour…I will be back!”
The Instagram post says all existing tickets for tour dates will be valid for rescheduled shows, except those for festival dates.
The new rescheduled 2020 UK and European dates will be announced in the coming weeks.
Earlier this year in February, Ozzy had been about to hit the road on his No More Tours 2 in the UK and Europe.
The shows were postponed along with the planned March dates in Australia, New Zealand and Japan.
At the time, Sharon Osbourne tweeted: “Ozzy recently developed pneumonia and has spent some time in hospital. He is through the worst part. His doctors have advised that he stay at home to recuperate for a full 6 weeks.”
