Odell Beckham Jr can only be a success at the Browns if THIS happens, claims Reggie Bush | NFL | Sport

This is the view of former running back and Fox Sports pundit Reggie Bush.

This off-season was involved in a move which shocked the league when the for a first-round pick and a third-round pick and safety Jabrill Peppers.

In a new look Cleveland side, Beckham will team up with the young quarterback Baker Mayfield, who was the 2018 NFL draft overall first pick, and close friend and former Louisiana State University team-mate Jarvis Landry.

Bush, a former Heisman Trophy winner, believes if the Browns’ offensive players, including Beckham, can be unselfish then they can make a success of it in Cleveland.

“I think it will work,” Bush said on Fox Sports TV show Undisputed.

“They have the energy that Odell needs.

“No offence to Eli Manning, but Baker Mayfield plays the game differently.

“Odell needs that energy. He needs the energy of youthfulness from that football team.

“They only way this works is that if they are all unselfish.”

Last season the Browns went 7-8-1 in Mayfield’s rookie season and with the addition of two wideouts in the form of Beckham and Landry, Bush feels this is now the best team the Browns have ever had.

“They look good on paper and we have seen a lot of great teams, a lot of great players come together, but they are not a team,” Bush added.

“To me this is about legacy.

“This is an opportunity for Odell and the rest of the team to do something special, that has never been done in Cleveland.

“This is the best team on paper that the Cleveland Browns have ever had.”

On Tuesday Beckham spoke at the first day of the Browns’ voluntary offseason workout program and the player was adamant it is and always has been just about playing football.

“It never was about money,” Beckham said.

“It never was about a payday.

“It’s about being a legend. And I think that this is about our everyday lives.

“As it all settled in I’m very excited about this and I think it’s going to be one of the best things that ever happened to me in my life.”
